UPDATED INFORMATION REGARDING DISTRICT MEETINGS
Brenda Gibbs, President of the North Carolina Rural Letter Carriers Association, called a meeting via the internet to address concerns regarding district meetings. Some district officers have reached out with issues in finding a location due to event closures, staffing problems, or other situations, while other members have expressed concerns regarding the recent outbreak of COVID. All board members were in attendance and all agreed that meetings should go forth as planned. Any district officer having difficulty with finding a venue should reach out to their assigned officer for assistance with securing a location.
Members who are not able to attend their local meeting, or are uncomfortable with attending at this time, who wish to be delegates to the State Convention or wish to run for district office, must let the secretary of their district know ahead of their meeting date. This should be done in writing and the district secretary will add them to the nominations. If running for district office, they should provide a telephone number where they can be reached to take the oath of office should they be elected.
