Van Heath has an update on the USPS Fairness Act, which has now moved to the Senate, and a request:
Since I wrote my last Legislative Article, S. 2965: the USPS Fairness Act has moved to the Senate. Please click on the link below and get those letters in the mail. Getting this bill passed and signed into law may well go a long way toward keeping the USPS a government agency. We are all counting on each other. As of February 28, it is not yet on the calendar. With the passage of the USPS Fairness Act in the House on February 5, the next step in our fight is the companion bill in the Senate. S. 2965 would eliminate the requirement that the USPS pre-fund health benefits for retirees, placing the Postal Service on a far better financial footing. The NRLCA urges all members to download the pre-written letter below and send it in to your Senator’s office. Thank you for all the effort that you’ve put into making our voice heard on the Hill.
